Dear WSL,
This letter serves as a formal written statement on behalf of athletes and professionals that work in the Challenger Series Tour.

According to Rule Book 2021, Rule 1.09(b)(iv), if Championship Tour (CT) surfers take one or more of the 12 spots in the Challengers Series ranking, the spots automatically will be treated as Season Wildcards.

We strongly disagree agree with rule 1.09b(iv) and would like the WSL to consider reinstating the double qualifier rule. In 2019, Morgan Ciblic qualified as a double qualifier and went on to participate in the 2021 WSL finals finishing 5th in the world.

Secondly, the prize money has been significantly reduced. We understand these are difficult times and expect these changes to be temporary.

We respectfully request WSL to revise these matters to make our sport as competitive and fair as possible. Athletes and professional workers depend on it.
